Privacy
Short version: you can play without giving us anything. If you choose to sign up, we keep your first name and one way to reach you, and we never sell it.
Playing without signing up
Your tiers, best scores, home teams, the name you type on a challenge, and your light or dark setting are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. You can delete all of it from Your tiers, or by clearing your browser's site data.
If you sign up
Signing up is optional. We ask for your first name, an email or a US cell number (you pick one), and your birth year. We also save your tiers so far, your home team, and how you found us. We use this to save your tiers to an account and, only if you check a box, to send you updates by email or text.
When you check a consent box, we keep a record of the exact words you agreed to, the time, the page, your IP address and your browser. We keep that record so we can show you agreed. Your IP address is stored only in that record.
Texts
Texts go only to people 18 and older who check the text box. Up to 4 messages a month, starting when text alerts launch. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent to texts is never required to play or buy anything. We do not share mobile numbers or text consent with third parties for their marketing.
Kids
We ask everyone for a birth year. If it could mean the player is under 13, we keep nothing they typed, we turn off analytics on that device, and the game keeps working as before.
Analytics
We may use Mixpanel to count plays, shares and sign-ups. It gets game events (like "round ended, 43 of 53") and a random id, never your name, email, phone number, birth year, or what you typed. It does not store your IP address. Analytics is off for visitors in Europe and the UK. Analytics data goes through our own domain.
Who helps us run the game
Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard server logs. Supabase stores sign-ups. Mixpanel counts game events. Google Fonts serves the fonts and receives your IP address when it does. These companies work for us and may not sell or use your information for their own purposes.
What we never do
We do not sell or share personal information, run ad trackers, or give your contact details to teams, leagues or betting companies.
Europe and the UK
Sign-up is not open in Europe or the UK yet.

To see, fix or delete what we have about you, or to stop emails or texts, write to support@nametheroster.com. You can also reply STOP to any text or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
Changes
If this changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
